LORAC Pro Palette

posted on: Tuesday, April 15, 2014

I've heard so many great reviews of the Lorac Pro Palette, so while I was in Arizona I had track it down and check it out for myself. I swatched a couple of the colours in store and fell in love, so I had to get it. The shadows are so buttery and smooth and the colours in the palette are all very wearable and great for both day and evening looks. My favourite thing about this palette is that the entire top row consists of matte shadows, while the bottom row contains shimmery shadows. The shadows are described as "velvety-smooth… infused with botanicals and are ultra pigmented to perform wet or dry". I like how sleek the packaging is as well, and I also like the magnetic closure. The one thing that is a little annoying is how quickly and easily the packaging gets scuffed up and dirty. I haven't used the palette too many times so far, but from what I have used of it, I'm liking it a lot. I did noticed a bit of fall out throughout the day from a couple of the shadows, but I found that when I used a primer like the NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base the shadows stayed in place better. The palette also came with a travel-sized version of the Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer, but I haven't tried this out yet.

Have you tried the Lorac Pro palette?

Here is my final post from my Arizona trip. Just a little photo diary including snapshots from the pool, a day at ASU, a drive to the Boulders, and a hike up Camelback Mountain. One of my favourite things from my stay in Phoenix was making a coffee, then heading to the pool. It was also fun walking around ASU seeing all the bikes, the palm trees, and the cacti. I'm also so glad that we decided to hike Camelback Mountain. We didn't make it to the top, but it was nice to get out and be active and see a pretty amazing view.

I have one more Arizona post, but I thought I'd mix things up and share an outfit from last week. I met up with some friends from the blogger and fashion community in Calgary and it was so nice to see everyone. We went to a restaurant called Market and the food was delicious!

My little sister and I have joined a yoga class together on Friday evenings. The plan is to take some photos together, head to yoga, and then go for dinner or go shopping. I just love spending time with my sister, and I'm so happy that we have found something that we can do together weekly.

What's in my Beach Bag? Phoenix Edition

posted on: Thursday, April 10, 2014

Because I was spending a lot of time at the pool while I was in Phoenix, I decided I should do a Whats in my Beach Bag post. Some of my essentials for the beach or pool are a book, sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat. I was pretty excited to pack my beach bag along with me on my trip because I often end up using it as a gym bag due to the weather in Calgary (check out my gym bag post here).

I don't usually bring so many cameras out with me, but because I was on vacation I wanted to capture my trip from many different perspectives. On this trip to the pool I brought along my Canon T2i, my Fugifilm Instax Mini, and of course my iPhone.

Phoenix According to my iPhone

These are a few of the photos I shot with my iPhone and a couple I posted on Instagram from my trip to Phoenix. I had so much fun visiting with my friend Lindsay. We spent our days by the pool, shopping, and trying out lots of different restaurants, bars, and pubs. We also caught a hockey game. It was my first time to Arizona and I definitely want to go back. While I was in Phoenix it was snowing back in Calgary, so I was pretty happy that I missed that!
