August Rain

posted on: Monday, August 30, 2010

I'm so disappointed in the August weather this year. It's rained so much!

Since I can't find my Talula boyfriend blazers anywhere I settled on wearing this comfy American Eagle one for a Sunday shopping trip with Opheliac.  It's still not the same when you are craving something though. Wednesday JP and I are starting to move into our new place and I can't wait to open up all of my boxes. I'm getting excited. It almost feels like christmas! I get to rediscover all my clothes again. haha.

Sunday Opheliac and I were in search of Dr. Marten boots. We did find some, but they were unisex. My feet are way to narrow to pull off unisex shoes. I ended up finding some Dr. Marten inspired boots at Spring, but I'm taking them back. I realized that they tie up funny when I don't have thick socks on. The narrow foot problem again. So the search continues. I really want to get some fun rockerish boots soon because JP is having his first show with a new band in a few weeks! I have no idea what their sound is like yet, but I am so excited to see him play again!

Elusive Blazer

I've been feeling sick the last couple of days. I can't tell if I'm actually sick or just extremely exhausted from a busy work week and lack of sleep. There have also been some forest fires and the smokes is really bothering my eyes and throat. All I've done today is nap on and off. I tried to go shoe shopping but instantly regretted it. I was just way too tired to try on shoes.

These photos are from my first attempt with a tripod at taking outfit shots way back in May.
I have searched high and low for this blazer, but cannot find it anywhere amongst my stuff. I loved this blazer so much that I actually bought two of it. black and grey. Only a few more days until JP and I are in our new place and hopefully I will find my blazer then! I am so excited for Wednesday!! I will finally have a closet again.

Rockin to the Beat

So this is what I wore to the BEP concert on Sunday. It was such a crazy day weather wise!!! There was yet another flash hail storm. There was so much hail that it looked like it snowed!!! Around 7pm the sun came out blazing for the first time that day and melted all the hail. I still wore my raincoat and boots to the concert though because I was afraid that we'd come out of the arena and it would be pouring! fortunately it was a lovely evening.

Opheliac and I got last minute tickets to the Black Eyed Peas concert Sunday night. It was such a fun night. They made the show really interactive with a "purple carpet" to walk down and get photos taken like celebrities before the show. You could also BBM the Peas and the messages showed up on the big screens during the show. Each member did a solo act, and Will.I.am DJ'd, which got the whole arena up and dancing. It was definitely a memorable experience.

Concert outfit photos coming soon!!

Saturday in Polaroids

Saturday has been a lazy and relaxing day. JP and I slept in then went for breakfast. Afterwards we played some video games, then drove around town exploring electronic stores. We each bought an external hard drive to backup our all of our photos, music, movies etc. Later JP went to check on a neighbour's house that he will be doing some renovations in and I tagged alone. After the renovation check up we predictably went to eat at Mucho Burrito. Tacos for me, burrito for JP.

I  forgot to mention that I found my wedding dress!! I'm so excited. I found it a few weeks ago when I went dress shopping with Opheliac after work. It's not the Enzoani lace dress that I was fantasizing about. I tried on some other dresses in different styles and decided that mermaid wasn't for me. The dress I chose is completely different from my original vision of what I wanted, but I am really happy with my choice. It's by Demetrios.

Sorry there are no outfit photos. I attempted to take some yesterday with my tripod and failed miserably. I am no good with the self-timer. Opheliac and I may find some time tomorrow though before we catch the Black Eyed Peas concert!

Sparklz and I dashed to TD Square mall on our lunch break at work yesterday. We actually went two days in a row. We were really excited to look at the new arrivals in Aritzia, but both of us are on a budget right now because of our upcoming weddings so we didn't end up buying anything the first day. The leopard sweater that I wanted was already out of my size, and I didn't see the Wilfred jacket, but I ended up buying a jacket that was pretty similar yesterday. I am having mixed feelings about the wool jacket. I am soooo excited to wear it, but I don't want the weather to change just yet. Last year the first snow fall was in October!!

Autumn Leopards & Leather

I always get sad when the fall/winter fashion starts filling the stores. Summers here always feel too short, and it just doesn't feel like I've had much of a taste of summer this year. I  still have so many summer clothes that I haven't had a chance to wear because the weather has been so random.

Although I would love the summer to drag on and on, I can't help but fall in love with fall fashion.

Here are some of the items I am dreaming of from the Wilfred fall/winter collection at Aritzia

Perfume & Nail Polish

As I've mentioned in the last couple posts, the majority of my stuff is packed up and I am struggling to accessorize my outfits. All of my perfume is packed somewhere in my parents basement so today I tried out my mom's Badgley Mischka perfume. The scent to me is floral, fruity, and feminine. I liked it, but my favourite perfumes have more of an exotic scent. My little sister has the MAC Hello Kitty nail polish so I borrowed that as well! The ring also belongs to my mom.

Here are the rest of the pictures from Sunday shopping with Opheliac.

When JP and I moved out of our apartment a couple of weeks ago I wasn't really thinking about how I was packing and where I was putting all of my clothes because we had such a short amount of time to pack everything and move out.  Now I'm living with the consequence of searching through boxes daily. Planning outfits has been really difficult. I don't remember where I packed any of my jewellery, so I'm just forgetting about that until we find a new place. I'm really looking forward to having a closet again!! For now, I'll just have to live with wearing the same few things over and over and raiding my moms closet and Jewellery collection.

Polka Dots & Straw Hats

Sunday Opheliac and I went shopping downtown. Sundays are perfect days to shop because it is so quiet downtown. We strolled through TD Square, which is going through major renovations right now. It's going to be so fantastic when it's finally done!!

There were so many great photos from Sunday with Opheliac that this is going to turn into a two-part post!!

To be continued.....

Pitches & Chips

posted on: Saturday, August 7, 2010

My family went camping for the weekend so JP and I had the house to ourselves. We slept in, sipped coffee in the morning, beer in the afternoon, practiced some golf (only chipping), and relaxed outside in the sun. We also made a quick trip to Superstore to do a little shopping. I bought a scarf, a couple pairs of tights, and a few t-shirts for JP.

My friend Susan made the bracelet I'm wearing. I am in Love with all of her jewellery designs. Check out her style here, and her jewellery here!!

Bird Cages

I"m getting so excited for my wedding now! Things are starting to finally come together. I'm wedding dress shopping tonight and hopefully I will find my dress. I have a good feeling.

I am totally and completely obsessed with cage veils. I love how they change the entire look of the bride. They create more of a classic/vintage feeling, but somehow it also feels more modern.
