Two Years

posted on: Tuesday, February 26, 2013

Yesterday was mine and JP's two year wedding anniversary. Our wedding day was one the best days of my life. We really had so much fun and I appreciate all the friends and family who came along to Los Cabos with us to take part in this special day. I couldn't have asked for a better man to come into my life. Love you JP!

Grey & Olive

The skirt that I'm wearing in this post has a bit of a story behind it. I was contacted by e-Shakti to review an item from their website. It's a really cool concept where the majority of items in their shop have the option to customize to your specifications! You can change the sleeves or neckline of a dress, the length of an item and much more. So I picked out this skirt, and thought I customized it to my height (5'4). When I received the skirt I pulled it out of the box and it was gigantic! Somehow I got mixed up when I was ordering the skirt and did not customize it to my size. Luckily my friend Sheri of Notsoseemless is a fantastic seamstress. She literally hemmed a foot off the skirt for me and, voila, perfect length. The good new, Sheri gave me her expert opinion on the make of the skirt and she said that it was made exceptionally well. From the waist detail, to the pleats, the lining, and the pockets. Overall I am really happy with my skirt. My one warning if you are ordering from e-Shakti is to make sure you double check the measurements you enter and make sure you are on the correct page for customizing your order if you choose to go that route.

On another note I am so happy that the weather is starting to warm up and that I was able to get away with wearing a lightweight jacket and t-shirt. Spring is in the air. Not to much else is new. Still loving school. I can't believe I'm almost through my second semester of classes!

PARK'S 5th Birthday!

posted on: Friday, February 22, 2013

It's the five year anniversary of the organization PARK (Promoting Artits | Redefining Kulture), and to kick off the year PARK is having an awareness campaign. Here are just a couple behind the scenes photos I took from the five year birthday/awareness campaign team photo shoot hosted at Butter Beauty Parlour, and Wurst restaurant.  I've also included photos by Kelli Green of LookTwice Photography. (See more photos here)

I absolutely love being a part of this team and I can't imagine my life without knowing these dedicated and talent women. The next big PARK event coming up is PARKSHOW, March 23rd. If you will be in Calgary this is not an event to be missed! Get your tickets here.

I haven't taken very many outfit photos lately and it's so weird, but I really miss it! It's much easier to take photos in the summer because the sun is up so late and I'm actually out and about doing things. My schedule this winter has been all over the place and very unreliable. I've also been spending a lot of time on my own, which is unusual for me. I've tried to take tripod photos of my outfits, but taking photos of your self is kind of awkward. I much prefer a friend or JP to photograph me. I'm also in a weird mood today because it's day three of me being sick and stuck at home. I'm starting to really want to get out and do something. Hopefully tomorrow I'll feel better.

In other new, my brother and I signed up for the Sea Weeze half-marathon in Vancouver! I'm ridiculously excited. It's not until August, but I've been dreaming of running in the summer and training in the evenings when the sun is still up.

Onto the outfit. I can't believe that I forgot to post this outfit. This is what I wore on Christmas. It's a burgundy velvet dress and I wore a cashmere sweater over top. I seriously wore this dress at least once a week during the end of November and December. Love it. I'll need to take some more photos of it.

T. Babaton velvet dress
T. Babaton Cashmere sweater

I thought I'd take a break from homework to share this outfit. I bought these faux leather leggings around three years ago and am surprised at how much use I've gotten out of them. When I bought them I was unsure if I'd ever wear them but they have become one of my favourite items in my closet.

Outfit Details
Gap sweater
Loft 82 oversized blouse
Wilfred faux leather leggings (similar)
Tahari flats (similar)
