Falling Leaves

This is what I wore a couple weeks ago when I stopped by Leo Boutique to chat with Caitlin Power about her F/W 13 collection. I had to pull out my Caitlin Power romper for the occasion. My favourite part about it is the leather detailing on the shoulders.  I wish that fall would last longer in Alberta. I love autumn colours. This year we lucked out and the leaves seems to linger just a little longer then usual.

Caitlin Power F/W 13 at Leo Boutique

A couple weeks ago I stopped by Leo Boutique to check out the Caitlin Power F/W 2013 collection. The pieces available at Leo were absolutely stunning. I also had the chance to do a quick interview with Caitlin. We chatted about the inspiration behind the F/W collection as well as her S/S 14 collection that she just showed last week at World Mastercard Fashion Week in Toronto.

Caitlin's designs are made with the modern day career woman in mind. She creates garments with classic shapes and modern details using high end fabrics likes silk, wool and leather. Her goal is to create pieces that people will be able to wear from season to season and year to year. Caitlin describes her newest collections as lifestyle pieces. The F/W collection available now was inspired by the architecture in Berlin and Paris, and is a take on new romanticism; a mix of old and new. Caitlin described her S/S 14 collection as vibrant and light, inspired by the French Caribbean.

If you are in Calgary stop by Leo Boutique to check out the Caitlin Power pieces in store, and if you are interested in seeing what's coming up for spring and summer check out this video and photos from WMCFW.

Tree-lined Streets

A couple of weeks ago Lorie and I met up for photos and coffee again. Lorie told me about this beautiful street she saw while driving around where the trees create an archway over the road and we thought it would be a perfect location for autumn photos. I decided to take a break from my sneakers and ankles boots and broke out some heels for the occasion. The weather is cooling quickly in Calgary and soon it will be strictly boot weather for the next several months.

Reebok FitHub

posted on: Wednesday, October 16, 2013

Last week I attended the media launch of Canada's first Reebok FitHub at CrossIron Mills mall. I love fitness and exercise, and as I've mentioned a few times on the blog, over the last year and a half I've fallen in love with running, so I was pretty excited about this new store.

The media launch had Reebok ambassadors Andy O'Brien and Tommy Europe talk about their experience in the fitness community, introduce the store, the store concept, and company values. The store is dedicated to a fitness lifestyle and includes free bootcamp and crossfit classes out of the store. All employees have a extensive fitness background and are not only knowledgeable about reebok apparel, but can also provide information regarding fitness and exercise.

I really enjoyed my shopping experience at the Reebok FitHub.  The customer service was amazing, and everyone was really helpful and knowledgable. I also had the chance to speak to a couple of the employees and learn a little about crossfit and I'm excited to test out one of the free classes offered at the store. "The store is not just a shopping destination but is also designed to be a social hub for fitness communities."

Sister Style | Back to School with Lainey #2

posted on: Sunday, October 6, 2013

I meant to get these photos up ages ago, but better late then never right? Here is Lainey's second look for back to school. A comfy sweatshirt, versatile black jeggings, and a fun pair of runners. All of these pieces can be easily mixed and matched with the rest of Lainey's wardrobe. I saw the Central Park Bicycle Club sweatshirt at Joe Fresh and knew I had to get it for Lainey for "back to school". I absolutely love it and knew she would love it too. I wish it came in adult sizes. I also love the ruffle detail on Lainey pink Converse.
